Samsung announced Galaxy Note 8 in a special event but company still has something exciting to announce at IFA next week. According to t different sources, Samsung plans to unveil its new smartwatch in Berlin in IFA trade show next week. Actually, it is a confirmed news since it came from DJ Koh, the president of Samsung’s mobile division.

Unfortunately, he did not mention any details about the upcoming smartwatch. Therefor, we do not know what to expect from the successor of Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier. However, he mentioned that the wearable needs to focus on health monitoring to grab more market shares. So, we can expect that the upcoming gear will mainly focus on the health monitoring.

If we can put in place properly a smartwatch that can monitor everything for your health and provide the information, then the market will grow. Today’s sensors do not look like enough.

If we dissect the above quote from DJ Koh, then from the last sentence it is quite clear that the new Gear will not come with some groundbreaking technology. He is quite clear about the future of smartwatches, but at this point of time, he feels the current sensors lack in offering a perfect health monitoring smartwatch.

So, we should expect Samsung to come up with better sensors and health monitoring wearables in coming years. Moreover, we are not sure if Samsung will name its upcoming smartwatch as Gear S4 or Gear S3 Pro, but one thing is confirmed that it will be complemented by  Gear Fit2 Pro.

We are just few days away from the IFA trade event. So, keep your fingers crossed and we might see a bigger screen and thinner smartwatch from Samsung. What do you want to see in the new smartwatch? Please share it in the comments.
